Impacting Guatemala

How it All Began

People often get passionate about their jobs in mysterious ways, and Setesïk's crew was not the exception when meeting female artisans in a small village almost two hours away from Guatemala City.

Guatemala is a country with more than 15 million citizens of which almost 60% is indigenous people who live in rural areas with poor access to education, clean water, food, medicines or job opportunities. A time changing generation is pursuing a better life for their children, so they work harder to earn more and give better opportunities to their kids.

But Guatemala's reality is tough:

In the rural areas you get to know many single moms and entire families who can't send their kids to school due to the lack of means to do so.

Setesïk was born as a development project for these women to work with the pine leaf in order to produce high quality products and be able to commercialize them at the right price.
